Audio Encoder for DAB & DAB+ systems

The ITEL ID ENC is a Professional Audio Encoder for DAB and DAB+ systems, based on the last HW and SW technology. It is available in option latest Fraunhofer broadcast audio codec.

It is equipped with audio analog input, digital AES EBU, and streaming, configurable in dual encoding, it can embed in audio stream the SLS e DLS with text messages and images loaded by the radio station.

The flexibility of the platform allows management of different Audio Sources (Analog, Digital and IP Stream).

The connection with the mux is IP based and the encoder is fully remotable via web server and SNMP.

Audio encoding modes supported in DAB are:

• Mono
• Joint Stereo
• Stereo

Audio encoding modes supported in DAB+ are:

• Mono
• Mono + SRB
• Stereo
• Stereo + SRB
• Stereo + SRB + PS

The encoder can be placed in the radio station, and it send the DAB/DAB+ audio coded to the multiplexer by TCP IP protocol, by option in possible to have the 6 band audio processor for DAB, this processor has an audio band of 24KHz and the loudness limiter ITU-R BS.1770. 

The ID ENC is the only encoder that includes by option the 6 band audio processor, designed by ITEL for the specific DAB+ application, for the perfect definition of the audio with loudness control ITU1770.
