Open Cardioid Mic Capsule (2009 winner of quality & innovation resolution award mic)

The MK22 provides a new kind of directional pattern, the "Open Cardioid". Its an optimal combination of classic cardioid directionality (MK4) with the sonic character of the wide cardioid (MK21). The directional pattern is largely constant throughout the frequency range, the response is -5dB at 90° and there is 16dB suppresion of rear-incident sound. It is often preferred for spot miking and as a soloist' s microphone.
